ClearDigital NV and Telkom Indonesia Forge Strategic Partnership to Transform Smart City Landscape


Jakarta/Hasselt, 21 December 2023 - ClearDigital NV with its platform WMW, a frontrunner in IoT solutions, is committed to form a strategic collaboration with PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), Indonesia’s largest digital telecommunications company by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic collaboration is poised to revolutionize smart city initiatives across Indonesia, including the highly anticipated Nusantara, the forthcoming capital city, and 540 other urban centers. 



Telkom has initiated a collaboration with ClearDigital NV in developing Indonesia's new capital smart city and other cities in Indonesia by combining the strength of Telkom in digital connectivity, platform, and services with ClearDigital's advanced IoT platform, WMW. This collaboration reflects Telkom's commitment to innovation, as evidenced by its strategic initiatives. 


Telkom has obtained the license to operate in Nusantara, positioning itself as a key player in the development of the new capital city. Furthermore, Telkom has made significant strides in advancing IoT infrastructure by deploying a LoRaWAN network in more than 220 cities in Indonesia. This robust network forms the foundation for smart city solutions, which will encompass a variety of connectivity technologies to address the diverse needs of urban environments. 


Rizal Akbar, Task Force Leader of ICT Service Preparation for Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), expressed optimism about the partnership initiative between the two companies. "It’s company strategy to pursue strategic partnerships with global telco players to accelerate Indonesia’s digitalization. In addition, WMW, based on the vision, capabilities, and track record, as well as the assessment of the strategic partnership team result, is eligible to become our partner. Thus, we will combine WMW and Telkom strengths to be the ultimate strongest player for the smart cities in Indonesia", said Rizal.
